Cellar Classics

We are delighted to introduce Cellar Classics to you. Thirty years ago a Cellar Classic would have probably originated from either Bordeaux or Burgundy in France or Oporto in Portugal – with a caveat that the wine would not be ready to drink for another generation in time.

However to-day we are a wine consuming nation that has exposure to a cornucopia of wine choice from around the world with ninety per cent of purchases being consumed within a week.  Cellar Classics are not about laying down wines that need ten or twenty years to mature to be ready for drinking, but more importantly providing options for more immediate enjoyment amongst friends and family. Very often these wines, with the correct storage conditions, will have the ability to maintain or even improve their quality over a specific period of time. All Cellar Classics will come with my recommended drinking ‘window’, to avoid any disappointment because I am as guilty as anyone in forgetting about a bottle tucked away in the ‘cellar’ and finding that once opened it is well past its best.

Cellar Classics is our brand badge of honour, marking those wines we believe to be stand out or that are interesting. If you want to learn, invest or find something unique for your cellar, this is where you will find what you need.
